General
characteristics, classification of Bryophytes by Proskaeur (1957 - upto order
level). Salient features of Hepaticopsida, Anthocerotopsida and Bryopsida. Occurrence
and distribution. Bryophytes as indicators of pollution.
UNIT - V
Detailed study of the morphology, anatomy,
reproduction and life cycle of the genera (excluding the development) 1. Marchantia
