• The values of the inforamtion depnds on the characteristics possessed by the information.
• The changes in any of the characteristics will lead to either increases or decrease in the value of the information.
• All the characteristics will not have equal importance. The value of each characteristics will depend on the case where its is deployed.

• In the act of preserving one of the characteristic, the other characteristic of the information may get affected. So a trade off must be there is giving importance to the characteristcs of information.
