ACR (Advanced Communication Riser) is a standard introduced in2000 by AMD, 3Com and other to supersede AMR. It uses one PCI slot and provides accelerate
d audio and modem functions as well as networking, and it supports multiple Ethernet NICs. With ACR, one telephone jack could be used for both modem and telephone jack. The ACR PCI slot is blue, and the pin orientation is the reverse of the standard PCI slot.
